Over the course of the first part of the research period supported by the European Regional Development Fund, literature review was conducted on the applications and solutions for metal elements which can be cast into the GRC panels, as well as for the purpose of manufacturing the panel sub-frame without direct contact with the concrete panel. This lead to a better understanding of the possibilities in terms of the frame shapes and the best connection methods.

A 3D model has been developed to represent the connection between the metal frame and the GRC panel. Static calculations have been conducted, and are continuously ongoing, to optimize the fixing point methodology in order to achieve an effective use of the material.

Research and development of a brick textured GRC panel recipe is in it’s early stages. More on the developments on this product coming soon.
